Product history
The collaboration between Louis Poulsen and BIG Ideas began with a suspension for the Tirpitz Museum in Blåvand, a building that BIG designed for the Varde Museums. The Tirpitz Museum opened its doors in 2017 and the bold galvanized finish of the suspension summarizes the museum's refined and robust architecture that blends with the dune landscape of West Jutland. The artistic and technical collaboration between Louis Poulsen and BIG Ideas has continued and has now led to the creation of the Tirpitz lamp which perfectly matches any type of interior. In Keglen's design, the aim was to create a systematic design language that would create the opportunity for a wider range of lighting types. In other words, Bjarke Ingels, Jakob Lange and the BIG Ideas project team wanted to create a series of lamps of different sizes with the same qualities and design details, but each with its own personality. “The geometric and metallic screens have a soft, organic opal insert that resembles a drop of water.” Architects go to great lengths to provide others with the tools to improve their working environments. Keglen. They believe that the larger suspension is perfect in any type of restaurant and meeting place, while the smaller suspension diffuses a more intimate light alone or in particular compositions.
