Vincent Van Duysen designs Louisa, a series of round and oval coffee tables in which the presence of wood and concrete is declared with an innovative tactile and aesthetic perception. The supporting structure, a conical central plinth, rises from the ground and is inserted into a plane excavated inside. The tops, almost suspended trays, can be in ash or brick red concrete, or in eucalyptus essence, and are distinguished by an original radiated pattern, obtained through a particular procedure for joining the slabs. The base is made of curved plywood covered with eucalyptus essence or folded sheet metal painted in pewter or brick color. Transversal objects, combinable with each other at will, with simplicity, lightness, elegance: the quintessence of modern design.
